The ANC’s predictable response to the “State of Capture Report” calls to mind the words of Winston Churchill:
“Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.”
The denials, evasions, fudging, mud-slinging and general scurrilousness which characterize the ANC response to the Public Protector’s report, have come to define their modus operandi: it’s business (“business” being a euphemism for ineptitude, self-interest and theft) as usual, “… as if nothing ever happened” .
